Measure for Replacement Windows

FOR EXISTING ALUMINUM FRAME WINDOWS-USE Z-BAR REPLACEMENT WINDOWS

Measure width and height of the narrowest portion of the window. Note: Be sure that you are actually measuring the narrowest height and width. On some frames one fin may extend further into the opening than others. Use the form on the back of this page to record your measurements, then bring these with you to Do It Yourself Windows And Doors and we can assist you in ordering the correct size replacement window.

FOR EXISTING WOOD FRAME WINDOWS
USE H-BAR REPLACEMENT WINDOWS

Height: Measure height from the back of  sill at the stop to the top of the frame.  Measure at left side, right side, and the middle.  Use the smallest measurement for ordering.

Width: Measure width between jambs as shown.  Take measurements at the top, middle and bottom of the jamb.  Record the smallest measurement.

Depth of the replacement unit is 2 /4" for Aluminum, and 3 3/8" for Vinyl.

All measurements should be rounded to the nearest 1/8" increment.

Go to our Window Opening Measurements page so you can print a chart to help your keep track or the windows that you measure.
